For discreet operation, especially at night, switch to Quiet Mode, which dims the display and runs the fan at its quietest setting. 

You can let the condensate flow straight to a drain or gather it in the unit's 4 litre tank. When the tank hits its limit, it gives a friendly beep, and the unit shuts off until you empty it.
